Thought I’d share some articles I found on books to look out for in 2009:
What Not to Miss in 2009, the Guardian UK
Books recommended:
1. Set 2666 by Robert Bolano
2. Darwin’s Island by Steve Jones, Darwin’s Sacred Cause by Adrian Desmond and James Moore
3. Hackney, That Rose-red Empire by Ian Sinclair
4. Journey into Space by Toby Litt
5. In the Kitchen by Monica Ali
6. Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantel
7. A Little Stranger by Sarah Waters
8. Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby
9. Where the Wild Things Are by Dave Eggars
2666 is something that’s been buzzing quite a bit, but I haven’t had a chance to pick it up yet. I’m curious about the book but suspect it’s going to be a heavy read. I might take this up this year together with Nick Horby’s Juliet, Naked.---------------
Highlights of 2009: Books, the Independent UK
The Independent has a more extensive list of highlights on titles to look out for in 2009 covering both fiction and non- fiction. The article by Boyd Tonkin also includes picks of what may be shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize Award.
I’m looking forward to read Malaysian author Tash Aw’s next book, Map of the Invisible World. I’ve read his first book, The Harmony Silk Factory and loved it. The book is targeted for release sometime in April this year.

2009 New Releases Book Preview, About.com
The article provides a short list of books that will be released this year. Some of the authors we can expect titles from would be John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, Nora Roberts and Stephenie Meyer.
Sara Gruen will be releasing her next book The Ape House. I haven’t even read Water for Elephants yet but hope to read it soon. Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray and Love will also be releasing a new book Weddings and Eviction, although a targeted release date has not been specified yet. I need to read Eat, Pray and Love first. I’ve heard a lot about the book from friends but have a feeling that it might be a bit overrated. Well more books to add on the TBR list that’s for sure!
Happy Reading y’all.
P.S. If you have a book that you're looking forward to read, do send a link or post a comment. I'd love to know what else there is to look forward to in 2009. xox

I almost bought the set of 2666 but somehow didn't. I'm keeping it in view.
