Want something different to read for Halloween? Try Quirk Classic’s list of popular classic books that have been revived with a touch of the ghoulish. Today’s The Star newspaper wrote an article on the books by Quirk Classics in its Reads Monthly section and I agree with the article’s statement that “American publisher Quirk Classics has done something unique for the great works of fiction: revitalising interest in them by adding “otherworldly” elements such as zombies and sea monsters.”
There are four books under this publication and I’ve actually read Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. I absolutely loved the book and you can find my review here. I also have Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monster as well as Dawn of the Dreadfuls in my TBR Pile which I hope I’ll be able to read sometime soon. I enjoyed reading Pride & Prejudice & Zombies and have no doubt that the other books under Quirk Classic’s are fun to read as well.
If you get a copy of today’s Star article there is a 30% discount voucher on any of the four Quirk Classics books featured in selected Popular Bookstore... woohooo... guess I’ll get to buy myself a copy of Android Karenina to complete my collection.
PS-- I absolutely LOVE the book covers!
